Dead Or Alive 5 Will Emphasis Voluptuous Bodies After All

Author: ally keer  //  Category: Games and Players

Transparent costumes and ‘bounce’ rate dictated by outfits confirmed amid claims Dead or Alive 5 would be less sexualised than previous outings.

Dead or Alive 5 will feature different costumes with varying levels of gravitational ‘bounce’ in a move back to the series’ boob-obsessed games of old. Clothing transparency level will also vary by outfit, according to Famitsu (via Andriasang).

Team Ninja had previously promised a less titillating approach in Dead or Alive 5.

Director Yohei Shimbori told NowGamer earlier this month that in “previous games the more sexual aspects may have been a distraction to the fight and those were the only elements that made characters stand out. However, in DOA5 we are making sure that characters themselves have actual presence.”

If we’re being entirely honest with ourselves, we’re not surprised. Have your say below.

Skyrim DLC: Evidence Points Towards Snow Elf Prince, Crossbows

Author: ally keer  //  Category: Games and Players, Xbox

The hugely-anticipated DLC for Bethesda’s Skyrim could feature Snow Elves, Crossbows and more according to lines of code in the latest update.

Skyrim DLC could feature Snow Elves and Crossbows according to lines of code found in the update that patches the game to version 1.5.26.

A user on the Bethesda forums found code that references animations for both the Snow Elf Prince and Crossbow weapon.

Snow Elves were a race that usd to dwell in Skyrim before the Nords drove them away, with some taken in – then ultimately betrayed – by the Dwemer, resulting in Skyrim’s Falmer.

Meanwhile, Ripten notes that a book in Skyrim details a Snow Elf Prince as follows:

A Nord warrior sees much in a life of bloodshed and battle, and is rarely surprised by anything armed combat may bring. But few among us that day could have imagined the awe and uncertainty of a raging battlefield that all at once went motionless and silent. Such is the effect the Snow Prince had on us all.  The glorious Snow Prince, an Elf unlike any other, did come that day to bring death to our kind. And death he so brought. May our gods honor him in death, and may we never meet his kind again in life.

We’re quaking in our boots. Hopefully, Bethesda will reveal more about Crossbows and Snow Elves next week.

iPhone, iPad are tops in enterprise activations

Author: ally keer  //  Category: Apple, iPhone

DuringTuesday’s earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook noted that 94 percent of the Fortune 500 are deploying or testing iOS devices. Now those numbers are being validated by news from enterprise mobility tool provider Good Technology.

In an analysis of smartphones and tablets activated by Good’s customers made during the first three months of 2012, the company found that the iPhone 4S claimed over 37 percent of all activations — four times that of any other smartphone. The iPad 2 was in the second place spot for activations with 17.7 percent, while the new iPad (which was on sale for only two weeks during the quarter) was in the number four position with 4.3 percent of all device activations.

What’s driving this demand for iPhones and iPads? According to Good, it’s both corporate BYOD (bring your own device) programs and “proactive, company-owned iPad deployments.” John Herrema, senior vice president of corporate strategy for Good Technology, was quoted as saying that the growth included “users who have both a smartphone and a tablet, with the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 as the most frequently occurring combination.”

Crytek: ‘Monkeys Finishing Timesplitters 4′

Author: ally keer  //  Category: Games and Players

Timesplitters rights-holder Crytek gets in the spirit of the franchise with humourous update on Timesplitters 4 development.

Timesplitters 4 has made headlines this week, with various former Free Radical developers recounting their time on the MIA shooter sequel.

Now Crytek has sent NowGamer a brilliant statement on the current state of Timesplitters 4’s development – which could have come straight from of the game itself.

Check it out below, but beware, it contains excessive nods to primates:

“For Timesplitters 4, with ever spiralling development costs, massive teams and endless crunch we decided on a more radical development strategy. In short, the experiment was to implement the infinite monkey theorem. With cloning being a far too expensive option, we spent all of the development budget on buying monkeys on the black market.

“Those seven monkeys are now sat in a room with typewriters and lots of mirrors, and we fully expect Timesplitters 4 to be finished soon. Rumours are that they haven’t written any code but just tease the press from time to time. Those damn monkeys. PS: anyone got any bananas?”

We’re particularly impressed with Crytek’s tongue-in-cheek approach on this one – not only does it suit the Timesplitters IP, but the company is based in Germany, too – not too well known for it’s sense of humour.

Do you want to see TimeSplitters 4? Or just loads of monkeys in Crysis 3? Let us know what you make of the statement below!

Oh. Crytek has apparently ‘actually’ confirmed that Timesplitters 4 is not in development.

T.G.I. Friday’s to let diners pay with their iPhones

Author: Arthur Ricky  //  Category: Apple, iPhone

In here, it’s always Friday(R), and you can always pay for your food and booze with your iPhone. Casual dining chain T.G.I. Friday’s has announced that iPhone owners can now use a mobile payment option called Tabbedout to pay their bills. The option is part of a free mobile app called Friday’s that came out a few days ago.

You’ll be able to launch the app and enter your credit card info as a payment option. Once you’re ready to pay up, the app will use the credit card on file to settle your bill. At this point, the Friday’s app can be used in 350 of the 600 T.G.I Friday’s restaurants. It’s expected that many franchisee-owned restaurants will sign on.

Tabbedout has integrated their service with seven of the biggest restaurant point of sale providers. In the case of T.G.I. Friday’s, that provider is Micros, and the integration allows a customer to pay their bill without waiting for a server to bring it to the table. Tabbedout recently partnered with PayPal to provide another payment option for users, and has a free app available that allows iPhone owners to pay up at a small, but growing number of other restaurants and bars.

GTA 5: Pachter Predicts Pre-E3 Showing, October Release Date

Author: Arthur Ricky  //  Category: Games and Players, Sony, Xbox

Rockstar set to ’steal thunder’ from E3 with a GTA 5 announcement ahead of the show thinks analyst.

GTA 5 could be revealed further the day before E3 begins as Rockstar likes  “stealing the thunder from everything else,” according to Wedbush Securities’ Michael Pachter.

“They’ve outgrown the show. I think they’re way too cool to go,” he said on GTTV (skip to 5.31). “My read on those guys is they like stealing the thunder from everything else. So if I had to bet, I’d say you’d get an announcement on GTA 5 the day before E3 starts, that’d be Monday, June 4. They don’t show up and that’s all anybody can do is talk about GTA 5 at the show.”

Rockstar last attended E3 to reveal Agent at Sony’s press conference in 2009.

Pachter added that he expects GTA 5’s release date to fall on 23 October – shortly after BioShock Infinite, which the analyst says is of no concern to Rockstar. With both games falling under the Take Two Interactive umbrella however, you might want to take that with a pinch of salt.

Author: Arthur Ricky  //  Category: Apple, iPhone

Welcome back to another hour of fun, live discussion on TUAW TV Live!

Today my topics will range from the flood of hardware and accessories that have made their way to the legendary TUAW Labs to the curious line uttered by Apple CEO Tim Cook yesterday. Cook noted that Apple is “shipping the best products ever, and we have some fabulous new products in the pipeline.”

What those products could be is a matter of speculation, and it would be fun during the show to hear your “outside the box” ideas about what new and completely mind-boggling products could be coming out of Cupertino in the future. Apple has created a new market segment for tablets and redefined what a smartphone is, and now the TUAW TV hive mind just needs to figure out what totally off-the-wall, gotta-have-it product we could see soon.

Below, you’ll find a Ustream livestream viewer and a chat tool. The chat tool allows you to participate by asking questions or making comments. You can also choose to watch the show on if you wish, by visiting our portal at In either case, you’ll be watching the show in glorious HD!

Line2 updated to add MMS support within its network

Author: Arthur Ricky  //  Category: Apple, iPhone

Line2 has an interesting premise – it lets you add a second phone number to your iPhone and turns your iPad or iPod touch into a VoIP phone. The company announced on Monday that it’s sweetening its service by adding picture and location support for iOS devices.

If your device runs iOS 5.0 or greater, you can send an MMS from one Line2 number to another Line2 number. As you would expect, the image will automatically appear within the user’s Line2 app. Unfortunately, carrier restrictions limit the usefulness of this new MMS feature as most carriers block MMS messages from a Line 2 number to a mobile number. You can send a Line2 picture message to any mobile number, but it will appear as a link the recipient must click if he or she wants to view the image on their phone.
