Dead Space 2 Collector’s Edition

If you’ve ever woken up to get a cup of water in the dead of night and thought to yourself, “you know, it’d be pretty awesome to have a Dead Space-style plasma cutter for protection, just in case,” then you may want to look into what appears to be the Dead Space 2 Collector’s Edition.
As you can see above, Amazon apparently leaked the details for the Dead Space 2 Collector’s Edition by posting this picture on their product listing, before quickly removing the picture from the listing not longer afterward — but not quickly enough to stop “Gamer104″ from saving the picture and posting it on N4G (via Examiner). The picture shows that in addition to the game, the CE comes with a soundtrack CD, redeemable card for exclusive downloadable content, art cell, and yes, a replica plasma cutter.
Neither Visceral Games nor Electronic Arts have officially announced the details of the collector’s edition, so it is possible the exact contents are still subject to change…but that picture is pretty compelling evidence. Still, all we want to know is: Why is the plasma cutter only a replica? Activision has so far equipped gamers with working night vision goggles and an RC surveillance car with their Call of Duty Prestige Editions, so what’s the deal, EA? Are you just not awesomely reckless and irresponsible enough to give gamers working plasma cutters, too?
